Up for 27 hours, then attended the services for a local Police Officer.
Truly a man gone before his time, the entire community is both in shock and showing their grief over the loss.
Hundreds of people utterly quiet, watching the escort procession of over 60 Police cars, Fire trucks, Ambilances and more from hundreds of miles.
As the final call was done, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.
As I read another post in which the author related his dislike for all LE, several comments came to mind, none polite.
I hold my tongue tightly, out of respect for the Officer today and those who have fallen before. They didn’t do the job to be liked, they were called to serve, and did it well.
Hats off, heads bowed.
Lt. You shall be missed.December 5, 2014 at 1:10 am #31264

Whirly, There are few really good people period. So when there is a person we know that stands out it makes a big difference.December 5, 2014 at 1:45 am #31276
I have great respect for anyone that chooses to be in LE. Having worked closely with some for 9 months, many, many moons ago I still can’t forget wondering how they could actually get up every day and keep going to work every day. The panoply of humanity that they must deal with every day is not something in which many would willingly spend their life. And, the not knowing what the next call, the next stop shall put before them.
Whirly, I’m sorry for the communitie’s loss, his family’s loss, his co-workers loss….and yours. God Bless him.December 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm #31294

I have to echo Tweva. The loss of your compatriot is , indeed, a personal loss as well as a community loss. My condolances to you and to your community as well. Ron S
