In case you haven’t seen it, Oprah expressed hope after Obama and Trump met. That resulted in some ugly and profane responses from large numbers on the left, including “big name” celebrities (important people, don’tchaknow). Never fear, however – all is not lost. Oprah has since admitted her “mistake” for the tweet she made. The left is solid again. And the President remains largely silent on the violence and disruption across the nation.
Meanwhile, the President is now in Greece, where he said the following while sitting along side Greece’s President Tsipras:
“You’ve seen some of the rhetoric among Republican elected officials and activists and media. Some of it pretty troubling and not necessarily connected to facts, but being used effectively to mobilize people,” Obama said at a news conference alongside Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. “And obviously President-elect Trump tapped into that particular strain within the Republican Party and then was able to broaden that enough and get enough votes to win the election.”
Obama said countries across Europe, as well as the United States, were confronting populist movements based on a fear of intruding global forces.
He’ll then be on his way further north in Europe to include Germany where he’ll have other opportunities to undermine the incoming President with world leaders. Plans include trips to other parts of the world where he’ll most likely do the same. It seems that Obama’s third term can be summed up as follows: “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” We’re in for an “interesting” four years.
