It is at least tragic. Though I’m sure that there are helpful folks and organizations somewhere there, of all the cities I’ve ever been in, Vegas is at the bottom of my list for places to look for sympathy or help. Since my first visit in 1959, when I was working for the California Division of Highways, and needed to cash my paycheck (Vegas was only 60 miles away, Berdoo was 180) I had the impression that the standard attitude there was, “If you ain’t a dollar bill, get out of my place.”

But if I were in Vegas, and needed a place to catch a few Zs, I’d think Walmart not fancy-schmancy casino parking lot.
