In the late 1980’s drought brought Somalia to it’s knees. As things went downhill clans began taking care of their own. Then NGOs (non-government organizations) started bringing in food and aid. The clans were already fighting each other and started stealing/robbing the food storage places.
The Somalia Civil War was started. Continues to this day. Names/forces change but still the same.

Now food aid is flowing to Aden in Yemen. Aden is actually an island off the southeast coast of Yemen. It started off as a base for Russian aircraft and ships. TU95’s, and other aircraft, doing maritime patrols of the Indian Ocean would land at Aden for resupply and rest. Russian ships would also use Aden for rest resupply.

The World Food Program plans to dock their ship there and offload food/supplies. I wish them luck. Since Aden is an island they may have a fighting chance.
