Some of you may have seen the following, since it was broadcast nationwide on NBC-TV. It’s a 30 minute TV movie (25 minutes on YouTube without the commercials) starring Jimmy Stewart in one of his last movies ever. It was quite moving for him, and he really put his heart into it. It was called, “Mr. Krueger’s Christmas.” First is the core message, a short 4 minute clip from the movie. For those that haven’t seen it, Mr. Krueger is an old man, living in a basement apartment, still working as a custodian in the apartment building. He’s just come in from work a few minutes before, and goes over to a manger scene he’s got on the table in his apartment. He starts rearranging it, but pauses with the Christ child and begins reflecting on its meaning. The short 4-minute clip ends with a knock on his door, bringing him back to the “here and now.” The full version follows below it. (Just click off any commercials that pop up.) At the bottom is an article describing Stewart’s involvement at the very beginning of the process of making the movie.

Merry Christmas to all in the true spirit of the holiday.

    Georgia Saint

    And the full version:

Here’s an article describing what happened when Jimmy Stewart was asked to do the movie, and his (and his wife’s) personal reactions to it. This is what the season is about.

April 6th, actually. {{grin}} But that’s a long story, and not for discussion here. ;-) The important thing is that the event is still celebrated as very meaningful by many, regardless of the exact date.
