Dude gets tired of hauling water by hand to his ducks during the Maryland winter…
Solution?
He buried a couple water tanks in a slow compost pile! This gives him access to 60 to 70 degree water the entire winter!
I know what you’re thinking… coz I thought the same thing… and made the same face.
The wicked flee when none pursueth..." - Proverbs 28:1
Now that is cool (no pun intended). It suggests multiple additional possibilities as well. If a fireplace or stove was not available, or it would be unwise to create the smoke to use one, a passive radiator system could use this same concept to heat a small room in a house so at least one area was well above the outside air temperature. This could be expanded to a number of potential uses. Thanks for sharing that video Malgus.
Very ingenious! I like it.
It is indeed a good idea. Tagging along on GS’s heating comments some might find this project interesting. http://decompoheat.tumblr.com/
Thank you. Hoping to move towards the North one day. So much to learn.
