Number 8 – Death is the number 1 killer in the world.
Number 7 – Life is sexually transmitted.
Number 6 – Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Number 5 – Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.
Number 4 – Health nuts are going to feel really stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing.
Number 3 – All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
Number 2 – In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.
Number 1 – Life is like a jar of jalapeño peppers. What you do today will probably burn your ass tomorrow.
…and as someone recently said to me:
Don’t worry about old age; it doesn’t last that long.December 29, 2014 at 6:36 am #33082
If I knew I was going to live to be this old I would have taken better care of myself when I was younger.
Old age always requires a new definition when you’re over …… (you fill in a number).
Real old age is when you know they can kill you and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it.
Medicaid is what’s left after your kids steal all the assets.
Old age is when your kids remember your life better than you do.
Don’t worry about old age… keep a pistol under the pillow.
Death doesn’t exist.December 29, 2014 at 7:52 am #33085
Its not the years but the mileage.

Lonewolf, I know what you mean. Good health is our greatest asset. I’m almost 50 and I’m healthier now then when I was 25. It’s great not having seizures or needing medication either. Getting what I put in my body right, made all the difference… and staying away from “free” medicare!December 29, 2014 at 5:26 pm #33118
I’m 67 years young and I feel about 40 !! I have come across so many people in the last few years who are so unfit, overweight and on heavy medication or needing serious surgery, I do wonder how they will manage(or not) when SHTF. most people wont walk if they can drive and seem to live on convenience food, my stepdaughters husband seems to have a drink problem which is making him gain weight…he’s a self employed bricklayer, a lot of people seem to have a drink problem in Britain these days, especially the older generation, I don’t drink myself I gave up 15 years ago and I haven’t smoked for 20 years.

Oddly enough. Most of human evolution youth = more fit and stronger. Not the case in modern times. We stopped moving… 99% human history was very much a nomadic animal.December 29, 2014 at 8:09 pm #33124
Just remember, None of us are going to get out of this alive anyhow. This is not original but I can’t remember who to credit with the statement. Ron SDecember 29, 2014 at 10:56 pm #33131
Remember your Creator
in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them”
Ecclesiastes 12:1 (New International Version)
Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (New International Version)
And this is the way to have Eternal Life–to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one You sent to earth.
John 17:3 (New Living Translation)
Jesus told her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
John 11:25 (New Living Translation)
That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.
2 Corinthians 4:16 (New Living Translation)
And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for Him.
Hebrews 9:27-28 (New Living Translation)
I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire [Oh Yeah!!]. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
