creepingmarching forward. The full article is well worth considering. It appears members of the Democratic Socialists of America in Colorado took a few pages out of the Ron Paul playbook, and did what Ron Paul delegates attempted to do in Georgia (and other places around the country). But the difference is that in Paul’s case, Republican Party bosses violated their own rules, and potentially federal election rules, by shutting them down, denying results of legitimate delegate selection meetings, and refused any appeals. The news media happily went along in suppressing the stories. But here we’ve got the Democratic Party happily accepting the move by the Democratic Socialists of America, as they easily inserted a socialist plank in the Party platform in Colorado.

Socialism is really Communism with a prettier word. The bad news is they will keep trying till they take power and the only way to stop them is to cut it out like cancer.March 29, 2018 at 6:11 pm #65900
Freedom, a former district attorney in our area once said that certain types of people “can only be cured with a Smith and Wesson aspirin tablet between the eyeballs.” He’s now a judge. Haven’t found too many cases in which I’ve disagreed with his decisions (including his handling of one on which I sat as a jury member).March 31, 2018 at 1:59 pm #65905
It has long seemed to me that most who espouse socialist sentiment are somewhat lazy people who want the benefits of the hard work and sacrifice others have made without working hard or making sacrifices themselves. They are often the students who take the easy majors in college and the feel good courses and then blame their inability to support themselves on the capitalist system rather than their poor choices and lack of useful skills.
This is one of the reasons I retired early. After decades of 50-60 hour weeks and much sacrifice to get where I did, I was tired of paying far far more in taxes than these people were and then being cast by them as the problem and told that I should pay even more than I was. I was the one working long hours and unable to have a vacation or even a weekend without checking my phone and laptop for messages that had to be answered. I reached the point where I said no more, somebody else can support them.March 31, 2018 at 3:42 pm #65906
MB, with that “attitude,” it’s clear that you’re part of the immoral capitalist cancer that has ruined this country [sarc/OFF].
Sadly, even in retirement, once we reach Social Security age we still have money confiscated from us to support them. We pay tax on more than 50% of our Social Security checks, despite the fact that we already paid tax on the mandatory portion we “contributed” out of every pay check through the years. I fully understand being taxed on the other 50% that our employers “contributed” to our Social Security checks (except for those that paid it all themselves due to the self-employment tax). But how we end up being taxed on the 50% of our check that we paid into the system, has never been explained to me. And how that has stood the test of time without congressional correction would be a mystery to me – if I didn’t understand who/what infests Washington D.C.March 31, 2018 at 4:40 pm #65907
MountainBiker, The poor and lazy are only 50% of the Socialist. The rich love Socialism since it stops competition and new innovation in new businesses. So Amazon, Facebook, Google are on top today and want to stay on top for ever. If you see in Europe there is Socialism and the new businesses are all old money or the rich before Socialism because Socialism has regulated all the middle class from creating new business ideas. So it is great for the very rich even if they pay more taxes since they are the only ones in business. You have only them to buy the products from, what a deal RIGHT! That is the other side to Socialism.
The problem is that if the Socialist in power becomes a tyranny then even the rich lose which is what the rich can’t see since the control of them being the only business in town is so attractive to them.March 31, 2018 at 11:32 pm #65908
Freedom, what you just described is exactly what almost everyone has missed in the Communist Manifesto. Socialism is a means to an end – THE end. The leaders of the movement are merely using the proletariat to achieve the ultimate goal – complete domination by the leaders. There really is no such thing as socialism or communism in actual operation anywhere in the world. A few small religious orders attempted it, but greed and/or personal disregard for others won out and it died. What’s called socialist or communist is only the visible shell of what’s tightly controlled within. The aim is to destroy both the social and political order of the world (Marx’s own words), so that “they” can take over. What we’re really dealing with is the true soul of Marxism – but few really understand that at all. Nice job. Just be sure you understand that it’s not one “side” of socialism. Socialism and communism are the smokescreen or shell for what’s behind or beneath it all. Read that little 3/4 page final (4th) chapter of the Manifesto again – it’s all there in a matter of just a few paragraphs.March 31, 2018 at 11:50 pm #65966
GS Socialism, Communism, Progressive, or whatever they like to call them self, it is Dictatorship, total control of the people by a small group of elites that want to live like kings! As a Cuban American I know for a fact, have family members there. The Communist eat the best foods, drive the best cars, and live like kings and the people are going hungry.April 1, 2018 at 12:06 am #65967
Freedom, not too far from where we are is the world headquarters of Aflac – the insurance company with the duck that quacks “AFFF-LAC!” You may be aware that John Amos, its founder, married Elena Diaz-Verson, who later became a director of the Cuban American Foundation of Miami. While she lived in Columbus, GA, before her death, we were fortunate in the surrounding area to get a better-than-average education about what really goes on in Cuba, not what the big networks tell us (or don’t tell us). You’re probably aware that she was an actively anti-Castro/anti-communist Cuban American. Sadly, very, very few Americans have any idea that Cuba is what it is, or the evil of the leadership there – just more of the media’s complicity (actually, active cooperation) in spreading the gospel of “socialism.”April 1, 2018 at 1:21 am #65968
As you know I love America and love to teach every American what Communism is. I say the same thing that you said ” Sadly, very, very few Americans have any idea that Cuba is what it is” I tell all my American friends that they have no idea what Communism is and sadly there is no way to teach how bad it is. My mother and father which are 88 and 86 tell me that America may have to go throw Communism to know what it is like and never have it again. I tell them that America is not going down that road without a fight. They look at me with hope in there eyes. They tell me there is no other country to run to and we better fight for America.
I am very glade you got to know Elena Diaz-Verson, a great Cuban American. I came to America in 1962, was 4 years old. You can say I am a Cuban American but I am an American.April 1, 2018 at 3:00 am #65969
Thanks. Just a clarification – I was never privileged to meet her. I only know of her great influence because she was so well known in this area, and the newspaper from Columbus didn’t used to be quite so useless and a tool of the ruling elite of that city’s government, so they would report from time to time on her activities, and sometimes the threats to her. In a sense I’m mourning the passing of virtually all of the WWII veterans, the Holocaust victims, and the Cubans that were able to get to the United States while they still could. They understood things few understand today, and the immense wisdom they all possessed through experience is virtually lost on today’s population. Without an understanding of such things, we’re doomed to have them repeated. And as your parents have said, “… there is no other country to run to, and we better fight for America.”
There also used to be a highly respected judge in the area who, as a Jewish Major in the U.S. Army, helped liberate a concentration camp in Germany. He often spoke about that stunning experience. He said the people confined at the camp could not even comprehend how a Jewish man could be a military officer, let alone have a firearm, as they began to realize who and what he was, and that they were being freed.
A nationally syndicated radio host from the past (still living but virtually unknown anymore – Ken Hamblin) wrote a book titled, Pick a Better Country. Indeed – and now it’s speeding toward destruction.

I like the juicy picture that was in the Intercept article. In Sweden they practice “Cuckoldocracy” too. The kids want it here ah well the white guy in the middle will lose his job to the girl on the left who is more priviledged than him. An then his girlfriend will abandon him for the black guy on the other end of the banner. Blacks are so cool you know. Its really dumbed down national social priviledge ism.
I’ve studied the subject from afar aka a very stable marriage and I am really amazed at the attitudes younger women have toward men. I would swear girls are taught to degrade males in school as much as possible so they can replace them with female priviledge. I don’t believe women today will achieve a stable country in the future under their new socialism. In effect they will be doomed like Sweden to economic misery and rape gangs. Wonderful future the socialists have planned for the females of tomorrow. War and depopulation.April 7, 2018 at 3:08 am #66622
