Hey folks, spending time this afternoon grinding elk meat with pork for BBQ this weekend. Also have ‘Escape from New York’ (1981) streaming on the iPad… one of my classic SHTF movies!

    Have a great weekend!

    Great movie, a classic.

    And the Elk?
Was looking at one outside the window last night.
    Tempting.

We got a couple of elk in eastern Oregon last year. I love that stuff.

The street is 40 feet from the house, they were about between the house and road.

Would have woken eldest daughter firing the .22 near her window.
    Still tempting.

We’ve had our normal deer and moose wandering the neighborhood, the elk are less common. The deer are a nightly aggravation for dogs and their owner.

The deer are hungry when they visit. If we didn’t have all our bushes shrubs surrounded by barricades they would nibble them to stubs. 2 feet of snow on the ground and the only thing growing are the frost heaves. Our roads that were 55 are being turned to 40 mph rock n’ roll paths. After a couple hundred miles on the interstate thur I have to change my truck air filter today.
