A dose of reality! The ability to size up the situation and to think through the implications is the best prep of all. That and necessity is the mother of invention as they say.

And it’s so true that situations, even in ‘normal’ life, seldom play out as expected. Need to be agile and adaptable to situations as they arise. Good article, Selco. Wish I could do the Croatia training…but the others would probably laugh at a 73-yr-old woman. (Who has lived in pretty wild and hungry times in the past…)

I always like what selco has to say and this article about understanding the randomness of events hits home with me. I spent a few days at another site dedicated to prepping just to see what they had to offer. I found close minded individuals with a lot of preconceived ideas. Adapting to changing conditions will be beyond the abilities of individuals with rigid minds. I wasn’t even rude and they kicked me out :)
