Well this article is very interesting. Darknet is an area of the internet that we do not have anyway of getting into it but the hackers, criminal of all types have found a way in and use it to post there criminal activity.June 11, 2015 at 2:13 am #41767
What happens is “something” is set up to run undetected by the usual methods. A way in is “clicking” on a certain object in a “normal” website. After that the ways vary and are changed.

A room of requirement. If your need is great a way can be found around the haha government. You can read it before they pass it out of exixtence.June 11, 2015 at 4:05 pm #41769
Darknet is actually kind of kewl if you can find a portal. They are all servers that run mostly by IP and searches are done via 0 day engines. At least that is the exposure I have had to it. Mostly warez and 0 day exploits, but there is some really scary stuff being pushed out this way.

Apparently, Jay is of different opinion on a “Darknet” concept
Jokes aside, I2P is already very usable, have a look at the following tutorial:
I used it, just to see how it works, and was able to procure some ebooks and (classical) music mp3s.
If nothing else – one may want to set up a copy of their legitimate “clearnet” website on one (or more) of the Darknets, just in case…June 12, 2015 at 1:33 pm #41772
So it appears that this data breach/hack/government stupidity resulted in all vets and AD data being stolen in addition to all past and present federal employees? Great……. Wonder if this means I should look at LifeLock or something like it.

I suspect that the purpose of these attacks is not simple identity theft. They must have a much more nefarious purpose, like gaining access information to other systems. Just think they have the information of every high level government employee, generals, admirals, cabinet members, congress, NSA CIA, etc, etc.
Maybe they will generate thousands of fake orders just as they launch an attack.June 12, 2015 at 6:31 pm #41775

Wouldn’t the enemy just have their inside man open the gate? “Hey Barry, we’re gonna attack and destroy America tomorrow. Make sure the door is open…” lolJune 12, 2015 at 10:11 pm #41778
It would be nice if the major media would notice that nothing is done no matter how much China steals. My guess is that the top tier political and economic elite are being blackmailed into silence.June 12, 2015 at 10:27 pm #41779
MB, Probably so. But what is the end game?June 12, 2015 at 10:36 pm #41780
“In what Rep Mike Rogers called “the mother of all spear-phishing attacks,” AP reports a second cyberattack linked to China appears to have gained access to the sensitive background information submitted by intelligence and military personnel for security clearances, according to several U.S. officials. Coming on the same day as the US Senate failed to pass a cyber-security shield bill and China’s urhging US to reduce military activities in The South China Sea, ‘anonymous’ official sources noted this second cyberbreach of federal records could dramatically compound the potential damage.”June 12, 2015 at 11:16 pm #41781
74, maybe someday we’ll know the full story but it could be as simple as ‘Bams is so consumed with hate for everything American that he wants our downfall. It wouldn’t affect him personally. He and his family can live in luxury in Asia or the MidEast somewhere where he’d be culturally more comfortable.June 13, 2015 at 10:46 am #41785

To have all of them arrested, given a 15 minute trial and then taken out quickly with a shot to the back of the head. Chinese efficiency beats Guantanamo. It’s so obvious too. No one can be an anonymous person in the U.S. anymore. The Chinese define a class of criminals opposed to their geopolitical interests and then proceed to eliminate them. After the shtf of course.June 14, 2015 at 7:18 pm #41799
here comes reasoning for kill switch.. for your protection citizen…look at who gains follow the money.. and who says it was not put there by government themselves why would they put on surface of dark web if it was a hacker? No money to be made, no claim to fame, no attack on government just info put out…. if you look at all around dark web it is like a open bazaar of every illicit thing you can think of including ideas images and actual items. who would go through all the trouble of that kind of hack and give it way without either money or fame, it is not in psyche of such people.
