Welcome! Please introduce yourself? (Name, age, gender, location for example)
Name: CharlieTango (or just CT)
Age: Mid 30s
Gender: Male
Location: Upper Midwest/USAInterest range from techie stuff to living off-grid. Husband, father of 3.
Since when are you into survival and preparedness and what made you get into it?
Have been prepping for several years now. I have been into hunting and survival stuff since I was a kid.
How I got into prepping was a combination of several factors including an interest in sustainable/off-grid living, being a zombie/post-apocalyptic movie/fiction fan and a growing awareness of horrendous state of current events/politics both nationally and internationally.
Why is survival and preparedness important or interesting for you? What scenario are you preparing for?
Because I would prefer to be on this side of the dirt . . . and free.
No specific scenario really. I prep with many possibilities in mind.
How would you describe your prepping / survival philosophy? What matters for you?
Still evolving. The more I learn, the more it shifts.
I tend to lean more towards sustainability. I think about what I would do in a long term SHTF scenario when certain consumables run out. Such as toilet paper, soap (laundry/body), cleaning products, food. I tend to only stock certain items to last through an specific period and beyond that have viable alternatives.I also believe that community is key to survival. You need to have a group of people around you that you can trust and that support each other and work together to get through it all.
I could probably say more on my philosophy, but that would take up a bit more space than I think is needed in an introduction.
What is most important to me is the survival of my family and close friends. I try encourage them all to prep.
Do you have some favorite quotes or words of wisdom you like?
Pick just about any quote from Firefly/Serenity and you’ll have it.
You are dying and have 30 seconds left, what do you do or say?
Ask for a shot of whiskey
