Good example of waste !!!! there should be a law that they must SELL it instead of destroying it , same for gun seizures made by the cops . Remember …its 1 billion of YOUR money .April 29, 2014 at 12:56 am #11513
Plus it’s the ‘green thing’ to do! LolApril 29, 2014 at 1:03 am #11515
Tolik, They need to sell it to the ammo companies so they can recycle to new ammo.April 29, 2014 at 1:12 am #11518
Freedom, It will cost more to destroy the ammo then it did to buy it.April 29, 2014 at 1:18 am #11520
That’s our ammo, we paid for it. If they don’t want or need it, they should give it back … or at least give us a refund.April 29, 2014 at 1:19 am #11521
1974, Now you are really making me bad!!! They just give it to the ammo companies and not spend anymore of our money.April 29, 2014 at 1:49 am #11532
Under Clinton they stopped most military equipment from going into civilian hands. They started cutting up humvees and everything else. They do not want us to have useful military equipment period. We might start resembing a militia. Let us get surplus ammo? Ho hohohohooooo ya sure. The surplus we can buy now are imports from places like Turkey.April 29, 2014 at 2:28 am #11541
No more GI surplus ammo since CMP went down the drain….
Used to be, you could get all sorts of stuff surplus… watched a show on History last night about rum runners. They’d have dayrunners built with twin Liberty engines they bought surplus. The Liberty engines were WWI surplus aircraft engines and ran like a scalded cat. All the stuff sold to civilians after WWII…
Nowadays, they’d rather just chop it up, burn it or give it away to anyone overseas rather than let us – the people who actually paid for it – have it. They had some dumb law that said surplus ammo couldn’t be sold as complete ammo… so an industry sprang up where they would disassemble the ammo, dump out the powder, then reweigh the powder charges and reassemble the ammo, then sell that to folks… technically, it wasn’t “surplus” if it was disassembled first…
I’m thinking this is a good working definition of “dirtbags”…

1974 & Malgus, when you really think about this it’s a way around the 2nd Amendment. We can have guns but let’s slowly limit the ammo to the point were the guns will have to be used as hammers.
Malgus you are right they are dirt bag liers.April 29, 2014 at 1:35 pm #11665

Taking away ammo will work about a s well as Prohibition did in the 30’s , remember that **** country to our south , Anything you want can come up from Mexico with no problems …..Think of all the 100s of thousands of tons of drugs that come up through there every year ….just sayin
