OK, went parts shopping this AM for another build.

In the days since Orlando, three major suppliers are either out of stock or back ordered on all upper and lower receivers.

Expect the manufacturers to ramp up production through the election.

    Just don’t feed the scalpers.

I already have several AR15s, so I am good for now. Luck for me in this regard. What exactly are you building now?

I recently acquired some 40 gr. Varmint .223 and was thinking an Olympic arms oa-93 pistol would be a nice add on. Home defense while on the road … As they say.

    Hmm, this is acting funny.

But a series of builds for a family of 11.
AR-15’s for all, AR-10’s also for mom and dad.

Fit to each individual both physically and ‘mentally’.
One kid has a “Flaming Pig” brake, he’s a loud kid……
One has pink furniture with ‘bling’ added thanks to a local nail artist. Hey, at least she’s shooting.

    It’s been fun so far.

    Here’ a carrot….

They look a little flat WB. Can you make one in Electra glide blue. Chromed mag. Pink handgrip for the girls.
But seriously is there a stealth paint blacker than black available for black guns? That’s user friendly.

Actually the ‘sniper grey’ CeraCoat works wonders over black.

I like the color WB. I’ll order the test sample and see what I think. Air dry cerakote over black sounds doable.

The only problems I’ve had with the air dry are simple.

Spray and forget. Leave the parts alone a good week if not longer, longer is better.

Not as tough. The air dry version scratches easier, but it’s also easier to touch up.

You know WB… What I always liked the best with the traditional AR was the handle.

Agreed, the carry handle despite the optics offset is still the strongest rear sight available, and looks better.

That A1 stocked receiver above is getting a “Retro” slickside pre-A1 upper. Sure the lower won’t be period correct, but it’s what I want.
The barrel will be a 20″ like the original, but a 1/7″ for hunting bullets. Have the original triangular handguard also. A few concessions to modern will be made, such as the MagPul grip, but it’s going to be a sleeper.
