Welcome! Please introduce yourself? (Name, age, gender, location for example)
John, 45 y/o male, married with children. I live in central Louisiana
Since when are you into survival and preparedness and what made you get into it?
Y2K really opened my eyes and got me into prepping.
Why is survival and preparedness important or interesting for you? What scenario are you preparing for?
Very few things in this world scare me. My kids crying themselves to sleep because they are hungry scares the crap out of me. I can’t let that happen.
I’m preparing for “come what may.” I try to prepare for several different scenarios. I live in hurricane country. I think the most plausible SHTF event will be a major terrorist attack on the power grid or an economic collapse.
How would you describe your prepping / survival philosophy? What matters for you?
I’m somewhat of a minimalist. The less I have to load up in a vehicle or pack on my back, the better. I have no illusions of coasting through the “apocalypse” in comfort.
Water, shelter, food, medical, defense. Not necessarily in that order.
Do you have some favorite quotes or words of wisdom you like?
Teach him he must deny himself. – Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee to a mother who asked him to bless her son.
You are dying and have 30 seconds left, what do you do or say?
Tell my family I love them. Also tell them where the rest of the good stuff is hidden!

Prepare for the unknown by studying how others in the past have coped with the unforeseeable and the unpredictable.

Welcome!
Medical preparedness is important to me as well.
As is being able to feed my family.
I was a young child during Y2K but still remember people freaking out. I’m glad your eyes were opened by it!
