    I know most of us here came from a time when math and calculations where done long hand on paper or on the chalk board, recently i had a friend introduce me to trachtenberg system made way back in ww2 and i wondered why we had to learn it the hard way…. it is something my niece and nephew now use after i taught them in school he ranked in top 10 across the country in math for his age. something you might find useful

    Thanks, namelus! I never had any trouble with conventional shopkeeper arithmetic, but I can see how this would be faster, and more easily checked, once mastered.
