Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 is down in Ukraine, and currently it’s being said that it was shot down by Russian Air defence. But I don’t think that is confirmed yet.

Yes I am watching Fox news right now and it may have been shoot down by a Russian plane. This is not good.July 17, 2014 at 4:33 pm #19028
Lots of imagery coming in now of wreckage and bodies. It’s strewn across a crash site of approx. 7 miles. And as you can imagine, both sides in Ukraine are blaming the other for this doing.

This is gonna light a fire under someone’s arse.July 17, 2014 at 7:33 pm #19049
Just read an unconfirmed report that they may have been trying to shoot Putin’s plane down. He apparently was flying home from Brazil, on the same flight path, just a bit earlier. Comparison photos show the planes to look very similar, even the markings look the same from a distance. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out. No one as yet taken credit. Also read where FAA told pilots to avoid overflying Crimea.July 17, 2014 at 8:21 pm #19053
Yip – The pilots seem to feel safer flying over Russia http://www.flightradar24.com/48.79,34.43/7July 17, 2014 at 8:29 pm #19056
LOL not anymore Leopard. I just wonder could there have been someone important on the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared and it suffered the same fate? I don’t know if they were flying near the same area but it seems odd for one airline to have so much trouble in such a short time span.July 17, 2014 at 8:50 pm #19059

If that shows like a true information it could lead to some serious stuff, we ll see, it is too early to know.July 17, 2014 at 10:00 pm #19078
Anyone read this?
From news articles:
The translation of the Ukrainian text reads: “Buk” terrorists were in Snezhnoye today.
Furthermore, The Interpreter reports the Ukrainian journalist Roman Bochkala and an AP journalist have seen separatists with the BUK system.
The region of Donetsk is a stronghold of pro-Russian rebels who are fighting the Ukrainian army. The separatists deny responsibility (via The Interpreter), but they did claim to shoot down a “Ukrainian transport plane” in the same area earlier today.
And Igor Strelkov, the pro-Russian separatist leader who is linked to Russian intelligence, claimed that rebels had shot down the “transport plane” in Torez — the same town that the Malaysia Airlines plane went down.
“In the region of Torez AN-26 plane has been shot,” he wrote on Russia’s version of Facebook. “We have warned them – not to fly ‘in our sky.'”
The Ukraine Security Service later released a recording of intercepted phone calls in which separatists purportedly discussed the shootdown, indicating that they were responsible.
“We have just shot down a plane,” says one man on the tape, identified as Igor Bezler, one of the leaders in the pro-Russian separatist movement in eastern Ukraine, at about 4:40 p.m. local time. “It was 100 percent a passenger aircraft,” another man, identified as “Major,” responds later.
“There are lots of corpses of women and children,” another militant says. “They say it’s written Malaysia Airlines on the plane. What was it doing on Ukraine’s territory?”
“That means they were carrying spies,” says another voice, identified as that of Nikolay Kozitsin. “They shouldn’t be [expletive] flying. There is a war going on.”
But Russian President Vladimir Putin put the blame for the crash squarely on Ukraine.
“Certainly, the state over whose territory this happened bears responsibility for this terrible tragedy,” Putin said in televised remarks during a meeting with advisers. “This tragedy would not have happened if there was peace in this land.”
The rebels did not allow government authorities access to the plane for the first hour after it crashed, a Ukrainian regional official said.

R.I.P. innocent people and children.
From the distribution of wreckage and bodies it looks like the plane fallen apart while still high in the air.
25 US citizens were aboard.
5-corner organization states they detected it was hit by SAM.
Let’s see how the weekend will develop.July 17, 2014 at 11:09 pm #19089
