Here’s a thought that may make one think.

Instead of a 9/11 style attack, big and brash, how about a death of a thousand cuts?

Small attacks in places no one would expect, a massacre in a nursing home in Topeka, churches in Mobile, a shopping mall in Des Moines, suddenly the terror factor is magnified because its everywhere and everyone.

New Yirk is threatened, doesn’t effect someone in Fargo much at all, but when it could be anywhere and literally is everywhere, its a different ball game.

Right now in various places it wouldn’t take much to light the fuse.
White guy walks into a St Louis church and opens fire?
By the time they figure out who ‘zippy’ was, the city will have destroyed itself.

How’s that for scary? And no viruses or such are needed.

Whirlibird, You have a good idea that they may do things small all over the place with a big event planned. This would take all eye away from the big event.

When they pick their targets (historically) they want 3 seperate things. 1) Publicity: they want media coverage so that it not only creates fear but so that it helps to create recruits. 2) Economic: think of how much the 9/11 attacks directly cost and how much they cost indirectly. 3) Symbolism: every where in the world people knew the New York skyline before 9/11, now?

If you pick a terrorist attack and look at the targets, every time these 3 things apply. Now think of an American symbol; sports, hollidays, locations. Think of all the soft targets. To me, one of the worst would be a bio attack such as this on Black Friday. It fits – publicity, economic, symbolism. As an added bonus they would destroy Christmas. Just some twisted thoughts on the matter.

OM, very true, now combine that with the little attacks first, to highlight the lack of safety and security everywhere.

Shut down the airplanes, shut down the highways, then what happens? Self destruction.

They don’t have to shut anything down. Think about it. 5 malls across the country get hit, say the 2 biggest and the other 3 are Smallville/Mayberry types. Result? Lots of sick people, by the time the ‘system’ realize it is ebola how many will be infected? Here is where it gets scarry, how many people will attempt to stop going out in public? How many people will not go to work? These are the ripples. I agree multiple attacks would be worse, say 100 malls on the biggest shopping day of the year? Then wait and hit the power grid during the big January ice storm that always hits in the northeast, the most heavily populated part of the country. If, very big if, they really have their stuff together an emp strike during January would be bad.

So worst case, they now have several different types of chemical munitions, possibly some dirty bombs, and these ebola martards. They could hit us with dozens of different attacks over a holliday weakend and wreak havoc.

osagemarine, you are right, they will try there best to destroy the holiday’s. By doing that it may take us into an economical collapse. That SHTF.

Regardless of how they do it it may just start the next crusade.
