Yup. I found a KSG at the local gun shop.I yelled “DIBS!” and put it on layaway. Didn’t really yell, but almost did. I am SO excited.

Ummm, I had a similar experience, with a couple of notable exceptions.
    1. My LGS would not do a lay-a-way on that item (KSG) :(
    2. The KSG was only $750 (well under MSRP!) ;)

That is a nice price. Mine was $999.

They were going over $1100, so that is not bad!
However, I did not buy the $750 KSG, but I did inquire about the lay-a-way ;)
    Nice catch!

Is the KSG reliable? I have very little experience with Kel-Tec and that wasn’t great. So what’s the scoop?

Reviews show them more reliable than the UTG. Fairly decent from what I have heard.

Had one through the shop recently.
Got to play with it both before and after tuning.

I will not be buying one for myself if that was a standard example.

Felt like twelve miles of bad road, once I got it running.
The mag switch hardly worked, some of the internals could have replaced a hacksaw or file.

And the price? I can get a used Benelli for less than the kid paid.
And if I still had a hankering for a bullpup, the old Mossy 500 bullpups are around.

Got a Mossberg 500 and a Benelli. Both are sweet. Never saw a bullpup 500 before, though. Have had 870’s, model 12’s, etc. Having 14 shells in a 26.1 inch package is hard to beat. Slipped back by and looked at the KSG again. Everything seems really tight and well built. Can’t wait to bring it home and shoot it.

I was thinking the internals might be rough.

Good, maybe the one I got to work on was the lemon.

The kid who has it, uses it when out on his 4 wheeler, his bear insurance.

Wow, no way would I have thought the Mossberg would be more fugly than the KSG, but…
That carry handle is the clincher ;) Dremel that thing off of there!

You aren’t kidding about that thing being fugly. It looks like the makers of the Sten and the designer of Lincoln Logs made a gun together.

You guys don’t remember those being heavily used by the supporting cast in the original Miami Vice series?

    They were cool back then.
And I wouldn’t get too dremel heavy, the sights are both within the carry handle.

LOL, I do not remember, but then again I was not a big TV watcher.
I like the basic idea, but I’d streamline it. Snip that carry handle, get a tac rail and add sights.
It would look 100% better! Collectability? Harumph!
