    Depends what the R0 – “R-naught” – is…

That’s how many people an infected person will infect.

R0 is the number of new cases that a single infected person will cause, on average. In most seasons, R0 for influenza is just below 2. In the devastating 1918 pandemic, it was likely above 3. With an R0 that high, the number of cases will grow exponentially, unless patients remain isolated or quickly receive effective treatment.

If the value of R0 is less than one, it means that one infectious individual would generate, on average, less than one new infections. (In other words, only a few such individuals would cause a new infection but most would not, making the average number of new infections less than one.) In this case, the disease would die out. On the other hand, the value of R0 could be greater than one. In this case, an infectious individual would generate, on average, more than one new infection, and a disease outbreak would occur. Thus, R0 = 1 is known as the threshold value of R0.

Given a realistic disease model with R0 greater than one, a public health agency might well want to do something to try to reduce the chance of a disease outbreak. The reproduction number can provide some guidance as to how to go about this.

R0 is calculated from the equations for the disease model, and is an expression composed of the model’s parameters and the initial values of the variables. In many cases, these parameters and initial values can be manipulated by humans to increase or decrease R0. Thus, examining the expression for R0 can help us figure out the best way to try to prevent a disease outbreak.

Bottom line: An R-naught of 2 would be bad… an R-naught of 3 would probably cause martial law to be declared, at least in some areas. Above 3? I don’t even want to think about it…

Remember that anonymous Greek politician… “The job of government is not to tell the truth. The job of government is to instill confidence”….

By any means necessary… including lying their asses off to you. No matter what you see – which is just what they will admit to – rest assured that the problem is much, much worse.

Not trying to panic you all. Just saying that governments spew bullshit to placate the masses. I don’t believe that the WHO or the CDC has anything close to a handle on this… an whatever they admit to is only a fraction of what’s really going on…

The following are 2 posts from a different forum I frequent.

Rogue doctor publishes accessible and simple ebola cure
    Summarized from the article:
Ebola is a hemorrhagic viral infection and totally depletes the body’s Vitamin C. IV Vitamin C therapy in sufficient quantity will kill the virus and save the patient. IV Vitamin C therapy was used by Dr Klenner in the 1940’s to completely heal patients with polio and viral pneumonia in days. Sodium Ascorbate powder is the form used for IV not the Ascorbic Acid form. In an emergency, you could neutralize the Ascorbic Acid with baking soda which would gas off lots of CO2 and leave a solution of Sodium Ascorbate. http://www.jimstonefreelance.com had the information from a current MD which led me to this information. Also, for a source of Vitamin C in a grid down, pine needle tea, and I believe spruce needle tea contain high levels of Vit C, certainly enough to prevent common scurvy, though not enough for emergency therapy.

Dr Klenner’s clinical expreiences are at this link:

    http://seanet.com/~alexs/ascorbate/1…guide_1988.htm

    AND…

One more not widely known at at all.

“…Back in 2008, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) in conjunction with several other federal agencies quietly conducted clinical research into the use of silver nanoparticles against Ebola and other hemorrhagic fever viruses.

And what they found was astonishing. They discovered that silver nanoparticles were highly effective against these deadly viruses, including the Ebola virus.

They later presented their findings to federal health regulators and other national health authorities. But it was all kept top secret. The presentation was called “Silver Nanoparticles Neutralize Hemorrhagic Fever Viruses.”

And the gist of the presentation was that silver nanoparticles displayed “powerful neutralizing effects against hemorrhagic fever viruses,” including Arenavirus and Filovirus (i.e., Ebola).

This clinical presentation was conducted under the auspices of the DOD’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Center for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction.

And the presentation was given by researchers from the Applied Biotechnology Branch, 711th Human Performance Wing of the Air Force Research Laboratory…”

If Ebola becomes a pandemic in the US it will be deliberate. The CDC has already set up quarantine stations and I’m sure you’ve seen the maps. Now compare the CDC quarantine map with the map of where they have dumped all the illegal immigrants.

    Coincidence? I think not.

Jane I hope you are not right but if it is deliberate it will be an airborne Ebola and the government will call for marshal law and everyone will agree that we need marshal law. This is a great way for them to take control of the people without much civil unrest.

Exactly! In recent years we have been prepared for this very scenario via various headlines and movies. The movie Outbreak was an Ebola movie and then there was the movie Contagion and all the zombie like movies and TV shows. They have been covertly preparing us for such an event. Why? The economy. The dollar is in a freefall and the BRICS nations will ensure it’s demise and don’t forget where we stand with the petro dollar, it is also doomed. We are heading for a collapse and in the very near future. TPTB do not want to be blamed for the collapse so they will create some huge event to lay blame, Ebola pandemic, war with Syria-Russia-ISIL-anyone, internet hacking of our banking system/wall-street, the list could on go on forever. If they don’t use the Ebola tactic to take us down they will use something else. But be prepared for any of these events as one will occur.

I agree Jane, a false flag will be planned before a collapse happens.

“The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is so out of control that governments there have revived a disease-fighting tactic not used in nearly a century: the “cordon sanitaire,” in which a line is drawn around the infected area and no one is allowed out.”

Patrick Sawyer The US citizen that died in Nigeria gave 14 people Ebola. Fortunately he knew he was infected and went to a hospital. His decision to go is killing everyone that contacted him, but imagine if he made his flight to the US unbeknownst to all of his fellow travelers.

“BUJA, Nigeria (AP) — Nigerian Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu says the country has confirmed two new Ebola cases, the first two to have spread beyond those who had direct contact with the ill traveler from Liberia who brought the disease to Nigeria.”

Now everyone that these two people have been associating with will probably contract ebola as well.

“Chukwu said Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, that the two new cases are spouses of patients who had direct contact with Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, who flew into the country last month with the virus and infected 11 others before he died. The two are spouses of caregivers who treated Sawyer, both of whom later died.
These two new cases bring the total number of confirmed infections in Nigeria, including the traveler, to 14. Chukwu says five patients have died, five have recovered and four are being treated in Lagos.”

Guys the Ebola nightmare is real and happening right now…

A slum in Monrovia to which Ebola patients “escaped” that has 70.000 residents in quarantined. The guys from the slum also raided a hospital and stole soiled beds and bedsheets…

So now we have 70.000 people in a densely populated area all locked up to contain Ebola. Nightmare? Very much.

See that a British national has tested positive…

    http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/aug/23/ebola-outbreak-british-national-sierra-leone-tests-positive

I can’t help but wonder about all the other countries surrounding Sierra Leone and Liberia, as well as the countries between Liberia and Nigeria. have they managed to close their borders and contain the spreading or are we just not getting any reports from them?

If the porous borders between South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique are anything to go by, I can’t for one second imagine that those guys up there have any better control over their borders and illegal immigrants/refugees.

Lots of cases go unreported. There are even these so called shadow zones where hostile people prevent doctors and medical staff to enter areas or towns with Ebola cases. This is a huge mess over there but as long as there arent reported cases nearby Im not overly worried and just follow it very closely for the lessons we can learn from this.

I would love to get some information from people within the quarantined west point slum in Monrovia. What they experience there is pretty crazy and another extreme survival scenario some people might find themselves in in the future… Herded together and locked up by military along with thousands of others.

Ebola takes 2 to 21 days to break out once you are infected, the next 4 weeks might become pretty extreme. People who want to get out of the slum could simply throw infected feces or similar at the military guys. Thats the poor mans biological warfare…

In the absence of other infection control options I expect we’d see area quarantines elsewhere in the world too, including the US/Canada, and Europe.

Just saw that they’re now reporting 2 deaths in the Congo due to Ebola. No links available yet, saw it on the AP twitter feed.
