That is one reason why Socialist ideals are growing so rapidly in this country , especially in young people , they dont want to deal with what it takes to better themselves , and Socialism offers a free ticket on the outside ……………..they just dont see the ugly inside . Thats also another reason BHO got elected for two terms , he promised a free ride , and thats what the GOP doesnt understand about modern American society , people want something for their vote , the GOP offers nothing ……..it sucks that people need a bribe or return for their vote …..but thats the way it is .

Selco – you are being ripped off/quoted by a bunch of web sites. Just for the heck of it I went to DuckDuckGo and plugged in “Survivalist Hate.” Came back with a page of results and half were by web sites quoting you.

Still with bad Internet but just wanted to respond to this. Most of the sites do link back and only post half of the full article. Thats actually great for us, so no problem with that.

We had a couple of other sites who posted articles as their own without links back. Thats really bad of course, simply stealing.

Democracy is a *self-censored* :-) People always want something for their vote, as soon as that something comes down to panem et circences   the end is usually nigh.

Great book by Hans-Hermann Hoppe, do not link to real text due to local regulations.

I guess I’m a pretty good example of a “grey man”.  I’m a family physician doing normal family physician stuff, seeing patients, ordering lab tests and x-rays, prescribing pills, pushing pixels around my computer screen all day, and so on.  The main thing which makes me different from other people is that I think there is a significant possibility of SHTF, which could potentially come from a number of different sources: economic collapse, peak energy, water shortage causing mass migration, and so on.

Some people might think it’s unusual for a “professional” type person like a doctor, lawyer or accountant to have an interest in SHTF.  People like us are doing pretty well out of the present system so wouldn’t we just want to keep the status quo going as long as possible?  Well, I think that if SHTF occurs it won’t make much difference how much money we earned before, or what our social status was before.  We are all going to be in the same boat, and an unprepared doctor is going to be in a worse position than a prepared plumber, so we may as well all prepare.

I can’t talk to anyone about this unless they already know and understand.  Too much risk to my professional reputation.  However, I leave a few clues for other preppers to pick up if they want to: for example, in my consulting room I have some books casually lying around about vegetable gardening, seed saving, root cellaring and so on, and if anyone says “that looks like an interesting book”, well, that could lead to an interesting conversation.

Thanks Peter, I agree that when SHTF prepared plumber can be much more “useful” then not prepared physician, but in your case you are prepared doctor, that make lot of sense, and you are gonna be “valuable” when SHTF.

Also it is good way to look for other preppers, I use similar “techniques” when I am trying to see is there someone else with same interests like me.
It is slow process but better safe then sorry.

Depends who you’re trying to blend in from. If you want to blend ‘greyman’ style hiding from govt. then you shouldn’t be here, unless you are accessing through a VPN tunneler via tor . . . ;-)

Agree with most of what you say below that (and absolutely no comments on your political/cultural views, Selco-Jay’s forums are among very few places that are not yet hopelessly destroyed by false dichotomy left-right trolling fights). Probably missing your sarcasm, but I do not share your enthusiasm about VPN+TOR. Would it really be that good, it would be outright prohibited and severely persecuted by TPTB. I do not trust the I2P and Freenet either, despite those two look more and more interesting (i.e. usable) recently. Gnunet one day, perhaps, but with current computers being eventually deterministic systems I just have that nasty feeling…

Yeah, I’m not personally a user of Tor, nor do i really consider it an answer. Similarly, I almost never use VPN services, I don’t need to!
