These loads are interesting but in the 45LC it seems to me that the real usefulness of the round is lost. I’d rather keep 250gr or 275gr hollow points in the gun and drive them around 1000fps. Then it will take down anything you shoot regardless of what it is.

No usefulness lost, this is specialty low penetration ammo.

One can still load up the gun with conventional ammo for regular duty.

Sounds good in the S&W 460es snubbie. Perfect in fact.

Brulen, using a sledgehammer to pound carpet tacks?

    Whirly,
If a 45Colt is your nightstand gun and you don’t want to shoot your neighbor (from in your house through their house) ok. But for anything else I wouldn’t want it. I know many people like frangible bullets.

Exactly my intended purpose, although instead of the Colt, i ran a 4″ .44 mag loaded with Mag Safes for years.

74, .45LC is supposed to keep me in practice for the bears. When you hit something with a sledge you know there will be damage & …… fun.

Brulen, 460 EDC CCW? That’s a lot of iron for walking around.

No one would ever say you didn’t bring enough gun.
