Take heart, folks. There may be more going on behind the scenes than the media/press will EVER want us to know (that certainly includes Fox News). I just received the following from a source that virtually guarantees its legitimacy. Talk about wanting to stand up and cheer, right here in front of my computer!

I’ve very slightly changed (and/or removed) a few insignificant details that COULD be potentially identifying. I would wish no harm to the person who wrote this to his military academy grad relative. I learned through years of government service that they will do all they can to identify individuals that express “inappropriate” thoughts, and start narrowing down, based on where a person works, certain identifiable demographic detail pieces, etc. The original version of this went around a closed group of trustworthy people, but leaked out from some member of that group, and is at least doing a mini-viral right now, apparently. I’m happy to see it, but don’t want to contribute to any source identification. Just read it as authentic, and for what it is really all about – not the details of who/where it came from. There may be hope yet!

From a good friend and classmate…

(I hope this relief extends to all the operating forces, too.)

Most of you know that xxx works in a leadership position within US Special Operations [section deleted] at the Pentagon. I spoke with him last night to get his view of how the first week of the Trump administration was perceived there. It was a short conversation but very informative.

He said the difference is nothing short of amazing. It is almost as though you can feel it in the air, in the pace of people strides, in the expressions on their faces. But beyond that, the change in process has been immediate. Within 48 hours several action orders that had been languishing for up to six months between State, NSC, and the White House, were approved and executed. Over the last 8 years ( xxx has been there for [considerably longer]) and particularly, the last 3 to 4, the atmosphere has been stifling. Every little thing had to be vetted by dozens of 30-year old State Department lawyers (with no military experience) before it even got up the chain, effectively neutering the senior officers and reducing effectiveness to near zero.

This past week, xxx took something to General Dunford, our Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and within minutes it was approved by the SecDef, General Mattis (both Marines, by the way) and green lighted.

There is new energy flowing through the whole building. There is a new sense of purpose, a new resolve that is palpable. A cloud has been lifted.

Say what you will about our new president, and there certainly is a lot ( pro and con) that could be and is being said, the folks at the pentagon are walking with a new skip in their step.

Hat tip to Jackie Gleason: “How sweet it is!” Things are happening at the top and on down the chain that the media people are helping to keep hidden, portraying a totally different sense in Washington, and working to reduce the hope of the American people. No, I am not breathing a sigh of relief and assuming that now all is well. Far from it. Trump himself could blow it all, and if he doesn’t, there are far too many on both sides of the congressional aisle willing to do him in. But that there is new motivation and hope among our military is a great building block for hope (and maybe real change). Maybe, JUST maybe, full-on civil war might be averted (or at least delayed – giving us more prep time, not time to relax and rest).
