Don’t forget, Freedom, there is a fundamental and crucial difference between communism and Marxism. Communism is a theoretical socio-economic system. Marxists sell you communism, but deliver violent, murderous totalitarianism (they spell it out in the last chapter of the Communist Manifesto (only 16 sentences long). And FARC is a Marxist/Stalinist organization. Its current leader has gone by at least three names, with his nom de guerre being “Timochenko,” quite unlike his previous two Hispanic names. He was trained in Cuba and Russia. The Colombian people learned the hard way (but sadly only a bit more than half of them learned, based on the extremely close referendum vote).
