Most things Cold Steel makes are pretty good , they make some funky things as well , so I would stick to their more traditional styles . I have several of their products , the camp shovel , pipe hawk . I have been abusing their GI Tanto as a work knife for about 5 years now , the bend test is incredible , I have battoned 1/2 fiberglass panels , chopped through 2×4’s in no time , used it as a pry bar , etc. …….no chips yet . The thing is almost indestructible . The Tanto shape does have its limitations vs traditional shaped blade , but its a good chopper , hacker , stabber . And about as basic as you can get . 1055 carbon . Affordable , so if you did manage to break it , you wouldnt be crushed .
