Too bad it’s not really “free” since the taxpayer’s of Canada have been covering the cost since the inception National Film Board of Canada in 1939. The NFB was originally use for war propaganda for the Government of Canada. The NFB has been producing government propaganda ever since. Here’s the history:


Saying all that, I still like some of their documentaries. I just stay mindful of the propaganda. (I do the same thing listening to CBC Radio.)

As a taxpayer, I would rather not be forced to pay for their so called “free” service. I would rather pay market price for services I choose to buy and not have government make those choices for me.
