I don’t think I ever bought the the best gun for any application. My usual practice is to buy a suitable gun for my purpose within my price point. I bought a Century Arms C93 HK clone. Most of the gun parts are original new HK parts, like the bolt assembly, springs and furniture. The gun is accurate and reliable, my two main requirements for a gun. I use a 1.5-6 scope with an etched illuminated reticle so I can see my target in low light. Rings are a one piece detachable mount so if the scope is damaged it’s easy to go back to iron sights. One major drawback is magazines were not readily availible for quite a while, and the mags are 40 rounds making it difficult to find proper mag poches. Happily magazines are easy to find now.
