The Marlin 1895 is a great rifle. I have one in 45-70. Also have a Marlin 336W in 30-30. Great, great rifles now that the Remington folks have figured out how to make them properly. That took a few years.
Was actually thinking about the .444 rather than the 45-70. Great round and hits like it were tossing sledgehammers. Did the 45-70 because my family is big enough on the 45-70 that I was able to get quite a few cases, projectiles, etc., from them.
