I have a 9mm suppressor and it’s awesome. It’s true that it isn’t totally silent but for use without hearing protection and for use indoors or around other shooters its advantageous. Even not being totally suppressed, by hiding the distinctive report of a gunshot can allow you to be more discreet and draw less attention to yourself. (Was that a gunshot? Or a Firework? Or a car backfire?)
One of my cohorts has several suppressors and the .22 cal suppressor is the most quiet I have heard. Plus its compatible straight across between rifles and pistol with that threading.
I’d say if you have the means it’s worth it. Consider multiple platform and caliber applications which may require some new muzzle breaks and getting barrels thread but it gives you those options.
